Wooing Venus With Stricter Charges

TLDR: I believe my petitions are too vague. I need better short-term goals to quantify my success in dealing with spirits.

While most practicing magicians understand a petition must be carefully crafted, I also understand that leaving some room for interpretation allows the spirit to manifest your request in ways you might not have considered. If the spirit is benefic, you may not get what you want but rather what you actually need.

I was anxious to work with Venus before she hit Virgo later this week, and Mercury goes retrograde shortly after. Therefore I picked a day and went for it: Venus was in her joy in House V, in Leo, but otherwise there was not much else happening astrologically that might boost my chances of success. I performed this operation on a Wednesday night, during a Venus planetary hour.

My intentions for this Venus operation were to simply make some cash: I need money for an apartment deposit as I prepare to move about Brooklyn during this pandemic. Almost more importantly, I also asked that my mother and younger brother also receive unexpected funds. I gave the spirit a deadline: we all three would like $1000 by the end of October.

I forgot how much I love the aromatics involved with Venus magic. The operation went smooth, the flow of the Orphic Hymn was flowery, it felt like poetry. Compare that to the way I feel when reciting Mercury's Orphic Hymn: deliberate, proper enunciation, truly meditating and understanding the words. When speaking Venus' Hymn, I was a performer: I felt Shakespearean and admittedly the words were felt in the chest but not processed in the mind.

Whether or not this manifests anything into our checking accounts, I'm looking forward to studying the end result of last night's work. Future operations will be approached with specific, quantifiable deadlines. Its time I show the spirits I mean what I say and need what I ask.
