October Magic Performance Review

2020 isn't shaping up to be much of a magical year, but I'm happy to record any work I attempt regardless of success. Goals for this year were modest but extremely important to me. I'm the sort of person who needs to feel financially sound before I can relax and consider any other business. I wanted to SAVE MONEY, I wanted A STRONGER INTUITION, and I wanted QUANTIFIABLE RESULTS this year. 

I wasn't able to focus on much of that this past October due to Mercury Rx, but here's what I can quantify:

MERCURY
My paper Mercury talisman, created early September, is NOT quite working as intended. I believe I was way too vague when writing the charge. Paper talismans apparently don't hold their charge as long as ones made from metal or parchment. Still, I hoped slipping the talisman into my phone case would increase my social media influence and open the door for networking opportunities. (I didn't explicitly state these desires; instead I asked Raphael to imbue the talisman with Mercury energy to create opportunities for 'business'). I guess I expected influencers to notice me or something along those lines. 

• The magic was performed under a full corn moon while Mercury was in Virgo.
  
• The ritual took place over the course of three days.
  
• The ritual called for the talisman be imbued with Tiriel's influence, with the help of Raphael. 
• Mercury trined both Jupiter and Saturn. 
• I'm still wondering if I have an affinity for Mercury magic, since he rules my birth chart (ASC Gemini).

VENUS

Venus work bore no fruit this year. I loved working with Anael in 2019 but her planetary sphere was not easy to work with this time around the sun. I did not receive any extra money this October, and neither did my mother. I've read about a few spheres you can work with when doing money magic: Jupiter and Mercury are probably the first on everyone's list. However, I approached this charge with a Venusian mindset but probably recited the charge using Jupiter terminology, words and intentions like 'expansion' and 'bounty to share'. That's all Jupiter stuff and I'll re-approach this request a wiser man. 

• There were no special aspects during this operation. Venus trined Mars, and the moon was full, but Venus herself was peregrine. 
• Reciting the charge and Orphic Hymns felt 'lovelier' compared to the feelings I register when talking with Mercury or Saturn. Perhaps the aromatics from Venus incense are the cause?
• I'm still wondering if I have an affinity for Venus magic, since she rules my sun sign and I have her in Libra/5th House.

SATURN

Saturn seems to have worked out: any anxiety or discomfort involving the challenging housemate has ceased. We don't talk anymore, but we're cordial and he certainly has stayed in his lane since the inciting incident and the Cassiel conjuration. I plan to work with Saturn further in order to help decrease debt and set up magical wards of protection. From a psychological perspective, I've come off my Saturn return and have learned some important lessons about 'letting go.' I've officially left my 20s behind and am accepting some truths: NOT EVERYONE IS GOING TO LIKE ME, AND I DON'T NEED EVERYONE'S APPROVAL TO CONSIDER MYSELF A GOOD PERSON. 

• I performed this rite on Halloween night, during a full moon in Taurus on Saturday. I only called for Cassiel once before as a simple initiation into his sphere. 
• The operation produced faces in the incense smoke, which are already posted to this blog.
  
• Mercury was still Rx. 
• I'm still wondering if I have an affinity for Saturn magic, since I have Aquarius located in the 10th House, and Saturn is located in House 8 in Capricorn.
