Syncronicity and Confirmation Bias
Do I think its interesting that, after performing a talisman consecration to specifically make my cellphone a magick item and, after changing my phone background to the image of The Magician (Mercury's iconography in the tarot) I was randomly served the song The W.A.N.D. - and is it a sign that I should finally invest in an ebony wand as per Trithemius' DSIC?
Is that interesting? Yea, I think so. Before that talisman operation I was speaking with a friend across the country who is beginning an online altar item shop, and we've been in talks about consecrating and selling me an ebony wand with the proper inscriptions. The wand has been on my mind, though not intentionally in this moment. All this time I've been using my Jupiter finger in ritual practice, and finally collecting a wand would compliment the special table of practice I commissioned under a certain Mercury election. If I've been asking Mercury to grant me extra magical potency and intuition, tHiS mAy Be A sIgN! I took this screenshot at 17:02, the moment I changed my phone background and shuffled my music library playlist. 17:02 is a Venus hour, with Mercury's hour starting next on the cosmic queue at 17:58.
But is it synchronicity? I can't be sure. Until I detect thoughts and voices inside my head that convince me that they come from outside my body, I just can't be sure any of this work is concrete. Reality is subjective and I'm inclined to believe magicians communicate with entities which exist outside their psyche. I just don't believe in new age chaos theory, or The Secret (TM) or anything of that sort. Personal unverified gnosis is all we have to work with, hence this blog.
So I'll keep posting these happy coincidences and see if the sum of these parts equal something greater. I should also take note of the very un-mercurial things that may happen to me as well. Things like missing the subway, maybe, or failing to get my point across with a presentation.
